Simple Plugins to Remove ALL Wordpress comments. Pending and Approved.
Hey Peoples!
The other day I took over a server for a Dev who went MIA and bailed on all his work. There were dozens of wordpress microblogs with (I'm not kidding here) millions of approved and pending comments. The nastiest one had 998,000 approved comments, wouldn't even function.
So I did a quick web search and found this badass plugin called Bulk Remove Comments coded by this awesome dude named Mike Strand at www.allcreatives.net
Unfortunately, I could not find anything to remove all the APPROVED comments so I tweeked the guys code to build a plugin for just that purpose (he deserves all the credit for this).
If you want to remove all Pending and Approved comments from your wordpress blog follow these simple steps..
- To remove all PENDING comments download, install and activate the Bulk Remove Comments plugin from http://www.jessepupparo.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Bulk-Pending-Removal.zip
- Run Plugin through the TOOLS menu in the wordpress admin panel.
- To remove all APPROVED comments DISABLE THE BULK REMOVE COMMENTS PLUGIN then download, install and activate my plugin http://www.jessepupparo.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Bulk-Approved-Comment-Removal.zip
- Run Plugin through the TOOLS menu in the wordpress admin panel.
- That's it!
